Ireland Finish on a High

Superb performances from all three Irish riders in today's (Saturday) semi final of the Individual show jumping competition at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy, saw Ireland finish with three riders in the top 12.

Wexford teenager Bertram Allen completed a remarkable four days of action, finishing as highest placed of the Irish, taking seventh place in the world with the mare Molly Malone V.

The nineteen year-old collected just a single time fault during two rounds of jumping in Normandy today.

Tipperary's Denis Lynch knocked one fence this morning before going clear in this afternoon's final round with All Star 5 to take ninth place overall, while Offaly's Darragh Kenny finished in twelfth place with Imothep, jumping a clear round in the morning session before knocking one fence and adding one time fault this afternoon.

The four riders who will compete for the title of Individual World Champion trophy on Sunday are France's Patrice Delaveau on Orient Express HDC, the USA's Beezie Madden with Cortes "C", Sweden's Rolf-Goran Bengtsson with Casall Ask, and Netherlands rider Jeroen Dubbledam with Zenith SFN.
