Last year’s champion Nicole Pavitt is back to contend her title in the Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomer final, this time with 7-year-old stallion SES Goldstar.

The pair qualified at Bicton Arena, taking top spot over 74 other combinations and bagging their place in the final. Nicole thinks highly of the stallion and is very excited to see what HOYS has in store for him.

“He has qualified for the Newcomers and Foxhunter finals so it’s a big week at HOYS for him! It will be a huge learning curve and interesting to see how he copes as he will never have been in an atmosphere like that before. He’s a big horse with a big character, he’s always been one of my favourites” she said.

Of last year’s winning ride, HC Cornet, Nicole said: “he’s coming back to HOYS to jump in the Grade C final on Saturday. He has massively stepped up over the last year and is now jumping 1.45-1.50m classes so he’s definitely exceeded my expectations.”

Best of luck to Nicole for all of her HOYS classes next week!
