Ascot Lydia and Must Be Hope names to remember after Thurles

16 March 2015

Last Saturday saw Thurles Greyhound Stadium host the final of the Connolly’s RED MILLS / TTSC Champion Bitch Stake over 525 yards. In the end it was the Billy Murphy trained Ascot Lydia who put in a very commanding performance from start to finish to come home three lengths clear of Scissors in a time of 29.01.

Must Be Hope and winning connectionsUnfortunately for the connections of She’s A Dream the odds on favorite for the race, she was very slow out of the traps on the night and never really got into contention.

Another big winner on the night was the John Donnelly trained Must Be Hope who took the Connolly’s RED MILLS Excel / TTSC Champion Bitch Final. Must Be Hope came home ahead of Sheepskin Wonder in a time of 29.51 to take the crown.

We now look forward to some big nights of greyhound action coming up including the Connolly’s RED MILLS and Newbridge Track Supporters Club Open Unraced Bitch Stake at Newbridge and the Connolly’s RED MILLS Unraced 525 in Kilkenny.

The Connolly’s RED MILLS Unraced 525 in Kilkenny on 3 May also includes an added €1000 bonus if the winning greyhound is purchased in the 11 April sales meeting.
